2024 YEAR END RECAP
River Valley USBC 2024 Year End Recap
The River Valley USBC Association achieved remarkable success in 2024, highlighted by numerous memorable events and significant milestones.
In January, 69 bowlers participated in the highly competitive Junior Bowling Association Tournament held at the Hudson Bowling Center. Also in January, 58 ladies competed in the River Valley USBC Association Annual Tournament at Strikers Lanes. Congratulations to Kris Little for her outstanding performance, securing first place with a 779 series (w/handicap).
During our Annual Meeting on April 28 at Striker's Lanes in Baldwin, we were pleased to announce the re-election of Vince Thomley, Vice President; Thomas (T.A.) Anderson, Director; and Ryan Christenson, Director. Their continued leadership ensures the stability and success of our association. Their terms are set to expire on July 24, 2027.
On May 17, 18, and 19, our dedicated board members Nancy Foley, Vince Thomley, Elizabeth Ziegler, Tom (T.A.) Anderson, and association manager, Angie Bierwerth represented us at the WI USBC State Convention in Onalaska, WI. Their active participation and insightful contributions sparked excitement among the participants.
The Second Annual River Valley USBC Golf Fundraiser took place on June 23 at Kilkarney Hills Golf Club, with 124 golfers enjoying a fantastic day. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who attended, as well as the 11-hole sponsors who supported this fundraiser, which resulted in $6,318 being donated to the River Falls Junior Bowling and Striker’s Youth Bowling programs. These funds are dedicated to paying the entry fee for all youth who participate in the WI State Youth Championships. This tournament plays a vital role in sustaining our junior bowling programs. It was indeed a wonderful day for golf!
Nancy Foley and Angie Bierwerth attended the USBC Leadership Academy, hosted by USBC at its headquarters in Arlington, TX, on September 16 and 17. During the academy, they had the opportunity to explore various topics, exchange insights, and foster meaningful connections with 38 other fellow attendees.
The Annual 9-Pin No Tap Tournament was held on November 15 and 16 at the Hudson Bowling Center. This tournament serves as an annual fundraiser to support the River Valley USBC Association. A special thank you to Kim Kiel, Linda Gardner, and Rose Minke for their efforts in making this tournament a success. Congratulations to Dennis Obryan and Dave LeBeause for tying for first place, each achieving a 906 series.
